LTB Culinary Scholarship Program aims to improve the level of culinary training in the provinces by providing qualified hotel and restaurant instructors from the provinces with 15-day culinary and sanitation course at the International School of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) in Manila. LTB Philippines Chefs Association provides tuition, text books, chefs uniforms and tools to the scholars. Aside from these, scholars are brought on educational trips to hotels, restaurants, food distribution purveyors and a special dinner to meet member chefs and industry professionals. Transportation, board and lodging while in Manila are provided by the scholars themselves or their respective schools.

Fundraising is done through LTB Philippines regular Chef Tables whereby a portion of the proceeds are set aside for the scholarship program. Additional funding is provided by LTB Philippines members and corporate sponsors.

2016 is the 11th consecutive year of the LTB Philippines Culinary Scholarship Program.  This was held on April 19 to May 5 at the International School of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) in Katipunan, Quezon City. This year's batch hailed from Davao, Caloocan, Capiz and Bohol. Our scholars were enrolled in a 15-day culinary and sanitation training program at ISCAHM through Chef Norbert Gandler.
On the weekends they visited the Werdenberg International Corporation offices and were toured by Ms. Goldie San Luis to see how imported food products are stored and distributed to hotels and restaurants with a special sausage tasting of Euro Swiss products at Swiss restaurant Chesa Bianca. They were also hosted by chef Joanne Limoanco at the Unilever Test Kitchen and had a private demonstration by the Unilever Chefs.
The scholars had their graduation lunch at The Brewery at the Palace with a special tour of the brewing facilities by the brewmaster, Oliver Ellrot and lunch care of LTB Director Carlo Miguel. After the lunch the scholars received their diplomas from Chef Norbert Gandler and special knife kits courtesy of Ms. Tess Lopez and Marco Verzosa of Knife’s Edge.

The Board of Directors thanks all those involved in the LTBCSP for your continued support of this worthwhile program which in no small way helps improve the level of culinary education in the provinces.
