I do hope all your family and members are well in these crazy times at present. I have been asked about various spots on a number of the WorldChefs committees
And once the WorldChefs board meeting and give the green light on the new teams, then we will call a ZOOM meeting with the presidents to announce it all clearly.
Naturally first we need to inform the president of that area first.
Global Chef/Young Chef/Pastry 2020, the final has been allocated to Wales due to the Congress been cancelled in 2020, this will take place in 2021 and most likely September / October.
It will be the same rules that has been previously posted without any change in the themes.
NON- Sanctioned Culinary Events
A few weeks ago I highlighted about events claiming to be WorldChefs endorsed, the two events below are not endorsed by WorldChefs. A request has been sent to the organizers to remove the reference and now further legal action has been taken, while we are not try to discourage events and competition, the competitors must be correctly informed that the event is recognized internationally or a local group putting an event together. You will see TASFED name attached to this event, who were a member of WorldChefs but their membership was removed for similar activities by the board of WorldChefs.
Please ensure your members are made aware of this as we need to not stop competitions but to stop the use of WorldChefs name where the judges are not trained, the criteria is not endorsed and the organisers are unwilling to abide by the rules.
Elections
The China Cuisine Association CCA, have recently held their general election and a new committee has been formed, Ms Erica Sunlin has retired to raise her young son and we must thank Erica for the many years of service she has given to the CCA and WorldChefs – thank you Erica. We would also like to welcome Hui Ma, who will be taking this role with the CCA.
As a gentle reminder to all Presidents, please update WorldChefs on any changes to senior roles within your group with emails address, contact number and photos so we can keep the web page up to date.
Competition Calendar
This I have put on the backburner until it is much clearer, events coming up then cancelled or moved which can be a challenge to all of us, so please watch this space.
Judge’s License renewals
As agreed with the board, if your license rans out this year it will be extended until next year until we can get a schedule on when they can be done, we are reviewing for renewals if they can be done via Webinar or ZOOM, this I need to come back to you.
