Greetings!
On November 9, 2016, we spent a beautiful day visiting the our friends, Nicolo & Paula Aberasturi of Down to Earth Farms lush farmstead in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and to Gejo Jimenez' sprawling Malipayon Farms in Silang, Cavite.
The tour organized by LTB Philippines Chef Sito Senn and Gina Lumauig of Slow Food Philippines brought our group of 15 chefs and members to see firsthand how these farms practice organic and biodynamic agriculture. From making compost fertilizers, seasonal planting to the breeding of Heritage chickens. More than educational, it was an awesome way to connect the Chefs to the source of the organic products we cook & serve in our restaurants.
We plan to do more of these tours in the near future and we hope you can join us next time. Until then!
