Paella à la Cordillera

Dear Members and Friends,



Last May 30, 2024, some of the members of the board of LTB Philippines Chefs Association went to Baguio in the Cordillera Administrative Region to participate in the Farmer’s Month Celebration.

Headed by Chief Waya Araos Wijangco, and assisted by Chef J, Chef Fern, Chef Sito, and Chef JA, along with some of the LTB Professional Members like Chef Mikel Arriet, Chef Kit Carpio, Chef Lord Carlo Bayaban, Chef OJ Gomez, and Chef Anthony Magpatoc, the Paella Gigante, aptly named Paella à la Cordillera, was a huge success! They used ingredients sourced locally — native smoked meats and sausages like Pinuneg, Kiniing, and Sausages from Abra, Highland Vegetables, and heirloom rice amongst others.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the participating local chefs, HRM students from the University of Baguio, farmers, and members of the agriculture communities, and with the support of the Department of Agriculture – Cordillera for making this whole event possible.

This was done in Melvin Jones Grandstand at Burnham Park, Baguio City.
