Dear Friends and Members,
Greetings from the LTB Philippines Chefs Association!
Last December 2022, LTB Philippines Chefs Association successfully raised One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php100,000) to help build a kitchen for the Kalipay Negrense Foundation in Bacolod. The non-profit organization, founded by Ms. Anna Balcells, currently houses over 120 disadvantaged children from various backgrounds. The project aims to make the community self-sufficient by raising funds to furnish an in-house bakery that would serve as a venue to teach the children livelihood skills such as baking.
On November 6, 2023, Chef Mikel Arriet, General Manager of Anya Resort Tagaytay, along with Executive Chef Chris Leaning and In-House Baker Neil Cabillos, visited Bacolod City alongside LTB Vice President Chef J.A. Ventura, LTB Directors Chefs J Gamboa and Chef James Antolin, and LTB Member Chef Louie Chua. The purpose of their visit was to impart culinary knowledge to the children and staff, share recipes, and explore the recently furnished kitchen facilities.
Led by Chef Mikel and Chef Chris, the children were guided on how to prepare classic recipes, including assorted cookies, chocolate crinkles, ensaymada, pandesal, and Spanish bread. They were also taught how to package their baked goods for sale during the two-day workshop.
As we celebrate the milestones of this project, LTB Philippines Chefs Association looks forward to sustaining our collaborative efforts with the chefs of Anya Resort Tagaytay and Kalipay Negrense Foundation.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of The Kalipay Kitchen Project! Your support has been instrumental in making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Thank you for being a part of this incredibly heartwarming journey!
Warm regards,
Jerome Valencia President LTB Philippines Chefs Association
